Course description
If you’re passionate about teaching and believe that ALL students should be able to make the most of your classes, this course is for you. It doesn’t matter if you already know anything about dyslexia, how much teaching experience you have, or where you are from. The only requirement is your passion for teaching.
During the course, we will take you on a personal learning journey that combines awareness, theoretical background knowledge, practical activities, mindset, and sharing experiences with the other participants.
This course will prepare you to be the teacher who makes a difference to their students with dyslexia. The course will be held in Avilés (BeFriends – C. Alonso de Ojeda, 8)

Number of participants: maximum 16.

Dyslexia Awareness Training
- Session 1; Friday 29th November 10:00 hrs to 14:30 hrs.
- Session 2; Saturday 30th November from 10:00 hrs to 14:30 hrs
- All participants will receive a course certificate.

Boelo van der pool
The trainer
Over the past 30 years, Boelo van der Pool has worked in many different areas of language education in the UK and Spain; school management, language course development, language coaching, international research, dyslexia awareness, and teacher training.
Since 2018 he has been actively researching in the field of dyslexia and language learning and, over the years, has developed a methodology that has already improved the learning outcomes of over 150 dyslexic teen and adult students in Spain and Latin America.
He is a regular speaker at ELT conferences and events, as well as podcasts and webinars worldwide. He has created this course to share his passion and experience with other language teachers.
For this course, he works with a team of language teachers and neurodiversity experts from Arezzo (Italy).
